On Dec 3rd, 2008 from 4AM to 6AM EST the Dexrex service will be down to move to our new hardware platform. Hooray! I've been measuring speed increases of up to 50x on the website, and we'll be able to archive up to 1000 messages per second. Note that your messages will be queued locally on your devices during this time, and that no messages will be lost, although your devices will complain that they can't connect to our service during the upgrade time window.
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!
Welcome!

I've been frequently losing IM messages or complete conversations over the past couple of hours.
Using Digsby + Dexrex for the past week with no issues.
The Dexrex Extensions Console shows a constant "Status: Receiving" and "Server: Interrupted". Tried restarting both with no change.
Is this a know issue being worked on, or is there an upgrade I need?
Seems to be working now! Console says: "Server: Connected" and (most of) my old messages were archived and updated.
Ok Phew! I was frantically looking into the issue but I am glad it is up and running now. The culprit was the server upgrade and the migrate took a little longer than expected. All your logs (and everyone elses using Dexrex) should find their way to the server over the next couple hours. If you are still missing logs, please feel free to shoot me an email at contact@dexrex.com.
Cheers,
Dan
Thanks! Not sure if this was the appropriate place to post a support question, but whatever. And maybe now "server interrupted" will get indexed on Google and others will have something to go off of.
Yeah sorry about that, we had a rather esoteric configuration issue with our hosting provider which caused spotty uptime for a lot of the day because of the new servers. It's all fixed now. As Dan says, none of your messages should have been lost, only delayed.
Is a battery pull/phone restart necessary to get the extension to work properly again?
It MAY be required to restart the application, but I did not have to on my Blackberry, and I didn't do anything special. It just started working for me.
To continue (and if there's a better place to ask this, please direct me): I haven't been able (ever) to get my BlackBerry working. The app says "Dexrex is archiving to the server..." and I see a message below saying "Last SMS archived X min ago". However, no messages appear on the web site.
Do I need to link the account in some way? Configuration on my phone simply asked for my phone # (10-digit) and CCC (1). Anything else?
Thanks again!
Scott,
During account creation, the Blackberry app creates a mobile account for you on Dexrex.com. You sign in with your phone number and the password you provided during setup. You can link it to your other screen names on the website. If the app says it's archiving, then the messages must be there, you probably just haven't linked your phone number to the account you're signing in with.
Send an email to contact@dexrex.com if you can't get it to work, although several of us at the office receive these emails and we keep a good response time, I'll make sure to keep an eye out for your email.
