Edward Slavich, who is both my brother and co-worker, recently set off on a cross country bicycle trip. Apparently possessing adventurous spirits, he and his girlfriend, Kira Taylor, plan to make it from Boston, Massachusetts to California by the end of the summer. Recognizing an opportunity to do some good, they decided to use the bike trip to raise funds for the Good Samaritan Centre in Tanzania. Taking notice of the cause, Dexrex provided a donation to the Good Samaritan Centre. Since Ed is heading to California, we also figured we could send a little something along with him. In this cold heartless age of electronic communication, we thought we could add a personal touch by having him carry a letter to Meebo. Below you can see an artist's rendition of Kira being handed the letter upon their departure:

Happy to say, we got to meet Ed and Kira on their trip through Wisconsin! They are very suntanned, healthy and appear to be having a great adventure.
We were finishing our exhausting 34 mile bike ride near the Horicon Marsh when they stopped us to ask about a campsite. We weren't so exhausted when we discovered how far they had come. Kira had experienced 4 flats and Ed had worn through a few tires. I think they had a lot of rain ahead of them the next morning but they had clean clothes and huge smiles when they left us.
