I'll start by introducing myself. I'm one of the two founders of Dexrex LLC. It started about, 2 years ago now, give or take, after pitching an idea I had to my friend Derek.
I used to be pretty lazy. I would get kind of tired and switch from my desktop to "lying down mode" in my bed and using my laptop. But oh no, I may have missed some AIM messages! "If only there was a way for the messages to be uploaded online and be accessed from anywhere!" So we spent the night walking around campus and talking about what kind of internet service this would be, banged out a quick requirements document - thus began our 2+ years of glory.
One of the turning points for us was when Google announced they would be centrally storing their GTalk conversations. Finally the evil tech giant had stepped on our toes, encroached onto our market. To snub them, we stayed awake for 3 days straight and managed to release our beta one day before they released their update - Go team. A year of hard work later brings us to now: pushing to get the site out of beta. We plan to declare full release shortly after January, and then to get things really moving and see how far we can take it. This blog will be a chronicling of the difficulties we overcome on the way to glory and a better internet for all. Woo!
